Notes from Nature Georeferencing Events
Georeferencing turns written descriptions of places into geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude). Many museum specimens were collected before GPS was widely available. Your help allows this valuable locality information to become mappable data for biodiversity research.
Our current project focuses on plant specimens from the California Academy of Sciences. No California geography expertise is needed!
